Rene LALIQUE and the history of perfume
A brilliant master glass-maker, in 1907 he becomes
the partner of the perfumer Francois Coty for the
creation of his flacons.
The success of their collaboration led to new
developments with the famous perfumers of the 1920's and
1930's: Roger & Gallet, Houbigant, Molyneux, d'Orsay,
Molinard, Worth...
Rene Lalique remained faithful to the philosophy of
the Art Nouveau movement, aiming to balance the needs of
Art and Industry.
It is also during this period that the name of Rene
Lalique is associated to the automobile industry. To
decorate the radiator stoppers of luxurious cars such as
Citroen, Delage, Bentley, Rolls Royce... everything was
permitted, even the use of glass. He thus created 7
designs of car mascots. It was in 1925 that Andre
Citroen ordered from the master glass-maker a radiator
stopper for the launch of his famous 5 CV model. For
this occasion, Rene Lalique created a mascot
representing the superposed silhouettes of 5 rearing
horses.

Lion (1988)
A BREED APART. Launched
in 1997, this original and legitimate creation revives
something of the artistic genius of Rene Lalique, the
Car Mascots, or Hood Ornaments, created during the
"Roaring Twenties". In all, Lalique created
27 mascots.
Extremely rare today,
these mascots have become sought-after collector's
items and have inspired this perfume bottle for
Lalique pour Homme.
The theme of this new
mascot is the Lion, which evokes a spirit of conquest
and triumph.

Le Faune (2001)
With the same desire of perpetuating the
Mascots Crystal Collection. Lalique has wished to renew its Limited
Edition. The 001 mascot is presented with a new fragrance and in a new
blue colored packaging.
This latest crystal creation is inspired by
a theme from the Greek mythology dear to the heart of Rene Lalique: THE
FAUN.
THE FAUN, the creature of ancient times who
amused gods of Olympus and tempted humans... Seductive, half-man,
half-goat, master of all that is luxuriant and sensual.... |
 |
Equus (2002)
After the Lion, the Sagittarius, the
Phoenix, and the Faun, comes EQUUS.
IMPETUOUS, it has the ardour and strength
of youth.
INSTINCTIVE, it symbolises creative power.
INDOMITABLE, it echoes our every desire.
Lalique crystal draws out the boldness and
underlines the wild rashness of this passionate, high-spirited,
fleet-footed animal who sees the future as a promise of new adventure.
Alongside this rearing chestnut horse, the Limited Edition Collection
Flacon for 2002, you will also find glass versions decorated with a
frosted intaglio representing the head of our mascot in a brown colored
packaging. These versions allow you to experience the scent of Lalique
pour Homme every day. |

La Panthere (2004)
With disturbing elegance, the panther casts
her piercing gaze on all who dare to draw near. She is supple and
powerful, and although she may be dangerous, she can also show her
playful, sensual side to those who know how to approach her.
She turns on the charm and seduces you with
her velvet paws only to pull you in with her way and allow us to caress
her without risking a scratch.
A true glass artist's masterpiece which,
with its subtle plays of light between polished and frosted glass,
highlights the sumptuous dual nature of this wild yet gentle panther.
A stunning example of beauty. |
